Project Description

SolarCast aims to empower homeowners with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions about solar energy. By combining accurate savings calculations, interactive visualisations, and comprehensive onboarding support, SolarCast will simplify the solar adoption process and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Key Features:

  • Savings Calculator: Estimates annual savings, ROI, and break-even point based on user inputs like electricity usage and panel type.
  • Interactive Visualization: Provides 3D simulations of panel layouts and savings over time.
  • Personalized Recommendations: Suggest solar panel models and local installers.
  • Cost & Financing Options: Breaks down installation costs and offers financing solutions.
  • Onboarding Support: Guides users through the installation process and provides customer support.

Data Story

This Dataset good to use:

  1. Estimating Solar Energy Potential
Roof Area Calculation as for solar panels, focus on the roof area.

  2. To describe solar panel efficiency: Use standard efficiency rates (e.g., 15-20%) and apply them to the usable roof area.

  3. To calculate potential energy generation by considering the amount of solar energy falling on the roof area throughout the year.
