Project Description
Starlit(TM) is a solar powered WiFi fence post light that combines smart lighting with wireless connectivity.
Each lantern extends coverage 300m to 1km along a fenceline, creating a modular backbone for connectivity in remote and regional areas.
Our GovHack agent prototype expands the StarLit(TM) platform to include trustworthy AI chatbots for data analysis. Agencies and communities can ask natural language questions of complex datasets, with transparent audit trails, ensuring social accountability.
lighting the way for safety, connectivity and community on country, for country.
Data Story
Remote Australia faces two barriers to health and resislience:
distance and digital exclusion. By combining solar-powered hardware (StarLit(TM) Lanterns) with AI-driven data tools, we can onboard community with goverment, councils and community:
- Extend Wi-Fi and mobile coverage along existing and future infrastructure such as fences and roads.
-Enable regional people to access telehealth, education and emergency services.
-Provide a trustworthy AI assistant that can interrogate goverment datasets (ABS, health, environment) while keeping answers auditable and transparent.
- Open opportuities for remote communities and First Nations designers and businesses to use laser cutting, signage and fabrication tools in a digital network.
Our Story is about equity, journey and place: giving remote Australians the same access to data as those in major cities.
