Data Story

The Wellbeing Insights Network Smart (WIN Smart) is an upgraded version of the existing wellbeing dashboard, designed as an interactive executive tool to enhance the understanding and assessment of community wellbeing. By integrating diverse external data sources with the ACT Government’s Wellbeing Framework, WIN Smart offers a thorough view of the factors impacting wellbeing and facilitates prompt, informed policymaking.

The data gathered from surveys (Our Lives Survey Report 2023) and the wellbeing dashboard (ACT Wellbeing Dashboard) will be utilized for predictive analytics.
The ACT Wellbeing Framework looks at 12 ‘domains’. Personal wellbeing, is an overall measure of life satisfaction. Canberrans generally have higher levels of wellbeing than people living in other parts of Australia.
Leveraging AI based model such as chat GPT or Gemini ,will enhance this open data platform by analysing and visualizing government data, making it more accessible and comprehensible for the public. Additionally, sentiment analysis of publicly available social media data (https://www.yoursay.act.gov.au/) will train the model to help the government better understand public opinion on proposed actions and policies. This approach not only uncovers public viewpoints offers the government valuable demographic insights for crafting more targeted and effective strategies to address concerns, deepen the understanding of factors influencing community wellbeing, and enhance policy insights and outcomes.
The dashboard shows three main sections . The Analysis section presents a consolidated view of information gathered from various sources, including social media analytics, giving a comprehensive indication of how well the identified domains are performing, along with key subdomains and metrics.

Innovating Wellbeing Measurement – Uncovering New Connections

We want to explore different ways to link data and outcomes to domains and indicators under the ACT Government’s Wellbeing Framework. Exploring external data sources can provide broader insights into the factors influencing our wellbeing, and improve its measurement.
