Project Description

Spread awareness of water issues to new residents

Data Story

Our GovHack19 Process
First we looked for data sets pertaining to water supply levels and water usage. There was little publicly accessible data on this so we moved to focus on the population change and our ability to communicate with new Alice Springs residents. We brainstormed ideas around communicating with new residents and incentives to get them involved.

Technology
With help of one of our mentor we established our website at http://kwatchaculchairrema.com.au on a Vultr website host. We also used AWS RDS to host our demo database and AWS EC2 to run a small PHP server to prove our database connection.

Non-Technology
No problem is ever solved by a pure technical solution. This project aims to show that data can be gathered and for future use by engaging residents who have a real interest in their future.
