Project Description

EasiGov for GovHack 2024

EasiGov is an innovative platform that employs Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology to simplify complex government documents, making them more accessible and understandable for the general public. Its flexible deployment options, combined with robust privacy and customization features, make it a powerful tool for improving civic engagement.

Key Features:

  1. AI-powered Document Simplification:

    • Transforms complex, bureaucratic language into plain, easy-to-understand terms, making government information more accessible.
  2. RAG Technology:

    • Enhances the accuracy of responses by retrieving relevant data and reducing the risk of generating incorrect information, ensuring that users receive reliable, real-time insights.
  3. Llama 3 Local Run to Ensure Privacy:

    • EasiGov can run Llama 3 AI models locally on the user’s device or server, ensuring complete privacy by processing sensitive data without the need for external cloud services.
  4. Document Upload to Reduce Hallucination:

    • Users can upload specific government documents for analysis, allowing the system to retrieve precise context and minimize AI hallucinations (incorrect data generation), improving response accuracy and relevance.
  5. Customizable for User Needs:

    • The platform adapts to individual user needs, offering tailored explanations and guidance based on specific documents, policies, or services the user is seeking.
  6. Flexible Deployment:

    • EasiGov can run both on government websites and locally on individual machines or servers, providing flexibility for secure use in various environments. This makes it ideal for large-scale public deployment as well as private use by citizens and organizations.
  7. Enhanced Accessibility:

    • Simplifies access to government services and information, ensuring that citizens, regardless of technical or legal expertise, can better navigate policies and procedures.

EasiGov combines privacy, flexibility, and ease of use, revolutionizing how citizens interact with government information, whether through public websites or local deployments. It enhances transparency and engagement while safeguarding sensitive data.

Data Story

EasiGov is designed to handle a wide variety of government datasets, from structured data like spreadsheets and CSVs to unstructured files like PDFs and Word documents, even processing real-time data streams. Whether it’s health policies, transport schedules, or community programs, EasiGov consolidates and simplifies this information, making it accessible to all.

Scenario 1: Health Data Simplified
New health guidelines are spread across multiple formats, including PDFs and live updates. EasiGov processes these documents, converting complex language into clear, plain text for easy understanding by both professionals and citizens.

Scenario 2: Real-time Service Updates
Real-time transport schedules can be hard to track. EasiGov handles live data streams, providing up-to-the-minute updates in an easy-to-read format for users on the go.

Scenario 3: Accessible Civic Data
Complex local government budgets in CSV format can be overwhelming. EasiGov breaks down structured data into readable summaries and visuals, empowering citizens to understand and engage with public decisions.

Flexibility in Action
EasiGov’s dynamic AI adapts to any dataset, ensuring quick, accurate analysis. From structured to unstructured and real-time data, it simplifies everything into actionable insights, allowing users to interact with government data like never before.
