Project Description

ClearFeed VIC combines public data and platform-level controls to reduce youth exposure to gambling in Victoria. We build a transparent Gambling Harm Risk Index (GHRI) using EGM expenditure, SEIFA, and crime stats to prioritise communities for intervention, plus a practical consumer protection proof-of-concept: a browser extension that blurs/hides Instagram posts flagged as gambling promotion. A lightweight influencer monitor and moderated registry generates packaged evidence for regulators and powers targeted takedown referrals. We pair this with a policy prototype requiring a machine-readable gambling_promotion tag and visible #GAMBLINGAD disclosure — enabling platforms to hide flagged content from under-20 users while allowing audits and enforcement. The GovHack deliverables are: an interactive GHRI map, extension demo, registry dashboard (moderation + report generation), the one-page policy brief for regulators, and a short pilot evaluation plan.
