Our project, An Accurate and Trustworthy Chatbot for Data Interactions, enables government agencies to interact with complex datasets through a conversational AI interface.
Unlike typical AI systems that prioritize reasoning, our solution takes an accuracy-first approach. It integrates multiple government datasets, applies trust scoring and validation mechanisms, and provides transparent audit trails. This ensures reliability, eliminates hallucinations, and meets the high standards of accountability required in government decision-making.

Data Story
Government agencies often manage thousands of datasets but face challenges in extracting insights efficiently and reliably. Existing AI chatbots can generate answers quickly, but they often sacrifice accuracy and transparency, which are critical for government use.
Our solution addresses this gap by:
• Integrating multiple datasets (budget, HR, operations, etc.) into a unified query interface
• Providing trust scores and validation mechanisms to ensure accuracy before decisions are made
• Offering audit trails that show exactly how answers were derived, supporting accountability
• Guiding users with suggested queries to encourage productive exploration of datasets
Through this project, we demonstrate that conversational AI can be both accurate and trustworthy, meeting the strict standards of public sector decision-making while remaining user-friendly and widely applicable across government departments.
