Cultural diversity in the workplace
Jurisdiction: Northern Territory
How might we use open data to better encourage cultural diversity in the workplace?
Breaking the social and gender bias is one of the key challenges across the world. Race, gender and ethnic bias are very present, from conscious decision making to subconscious, social norms.
In May 2021, The Guardian reported that “major discrimination against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people – like being unfairly denied a job or unfairly discouraged from continuing education – remains at elevated levels and is far higher than for the rest of the population”.
The same report shows the around one in five Australians recently experienced major discrimination.
