I'm not good on the scientific terminology. But I suspect there are a few misidentifications for both species, on CNM & ALA. This sighting on ALA by Reiner Richter is likely to be correct, "outer white costa (longitudinal ridge) of each elytron is longer than the inner one": https://biocache.ala.org.au/occurrences/81e9646b-075d-4356-8be8-e88c73a0fc3f
On my sighting, the outer white costa of each elytron is shorter than the inner one

Initially identified as Pseudocheirus peregrinus (Common Ring tailed Possum) but the tall ears and brushy black tail make it certain that this is Trichosurus vulpecula
